Every year the serious folk at BMW show their lighter side with an April Fool’s ad.  This one is their most successful to date with a record number of responses and media coverage.  It also won ANNA’s ad of the month, beating the ad that would later be crowned ANNA’s ad of the year.  Which just shows you shouldn’t put too much emphasis on awards either way.   

 

Anomaly got me in as a CD and some-time writer on a charming little campaign for Captain Morgan. The pick of the bunch was this one, conceived, written and directed by the amazingly talented Craig Ainsley (who actually isn't a control freak).  More surprising still is how it managed to sail through Diageo's normal butcheringsorryapprovals process.
